inSwindon are the independent management company for the Swindon Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID). We work closely with them on the development of the town centre.


UK Trade & Investment

UKTI are the national agency working to secure Foreign Direct Investment in the UK. Forward Swindon work in partnership with them to promote Swindon as a location of choice to potential investors.


Swindon & Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership

The Swindon & Wiltshire LEP is a business-led public/private partnership tasked with driving economic growth in the area. Approved by government in July 2011, it plans to help create 10,000 new private sector jobs and safeguard a further 8,000 by 2015. Forward Swindon is a delivery partner for the LEP.



Influence is the organisation that acts as Swindon’s collective business voice. Their key role is to ensure that the business community’s concerns, issues and aspirations are heard and understood by local and regional decision-makers.


Department for Business Innovation & skills

BIS performs the Government role needed to create the conditions for the private sector to grow and remove unnecessary barriers that can stifle growth. It is investing in skills to making markets more dynamic and reducing regulation, and promotes trade to boost innovation and help people start and grow a business.


Swindon Chamber of Commerce

Swindon Chamber of Commerce, part of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, is a fast growing, dynamic group of members representing all sizes of business from sole traders to multi-nationals and is a ‘hub’ of information and access to business support. Forward Swindon are a business alliance member.


Federation of Small Businesses

The FSB is the voice of small business and is the UK’s largest campaigning pressure group promoting and protecting the interests of the self-employed and owners of small firms. With 200,000 members across 33 regions and 194 branches. Their lobbying applies pressure on MPs, Government and Whitehall.


GWE Business West

GWE have a long established programme of business leadership delivered through the Initiative which exist to ensure that the interests of business are at the heart of key strategic decisions taken at local and regional level. They work alongside local councils, local enterprise partnerships and key stakeholders to influence and shape the economy of our region.


Swindon Borough Council

Forward Swindon is the company established by Swindon Borough Council in 2010 to deliver and facilitate economic growth and property development in the town. Forward Swindon is a limited company, funded by the Council, but operating independently.
