Regenerating town centre heritage.
A detailed planning application has been approved for the Council-funded sympathetic restoration of two heritage buildings on the corner of Faringdon Road and Catherine Street. This is a prominent site on a key route through the town centre adjacent to the railway village. Contractor SAS has been instructed and works have now commenced.
The transformation of 1-3 Faringdon Road will help create a sense of arrival to the Railway Heritage Quarter and demonstrate the Council’s commitment to improving the town centre environment. It will also create 7,500 sq ft of refurbished space, including apartments and two retail units that will boost activity on Faringdon Road.
